Car insurance claim for rear-end collision damage - will NCB be affected?
I met with an accident last week ago where my car got rear-end collision damage. The repair cost is estimated at 30000 rupees. I have comprehensive car insurance from HDFC Ergo with IDV of 5 lakhs. This is my first year of no claim and I have 50% NCB. If I file a claim for this damage, will I lose my NCB? Is it better to pay for the repairs myself to protect my NCB? The premium I am paying is 15000 per year. Please help me decide whether to claim or pay from pocket. Also, how long does the claim settlement process take?
